With its kid-friendly theme, it’s definitely a hit among families with growing children. It pretty much ticks all of the boxes for the perfect children’s party as it comes with kid-friendly food, activity-packed locations, and roomy interiors to accommodate everyone.
History
In 1973, television pitchman Anthony “Tony” Cavolo established Peter Piper Pizza in Glendale, Arizona. Despite being from New York, he wanted to open a pizzeria in the city that will serve residents high-quality pizza at reasonable prices in a family-friendly setting. He wanted a restaurant that will be perfect for the whole family, especially for kids and the kids at heart.
Originally, Peter Piper Pizza was a pizzeria. However, it soon evolved into an entertainment and gaming restaurant when they added a few arcade games in their locations. They proved to be big hits, especially since this is around the time when restaurants are also functioning as entertainment centers as well.
Peter Piper Pizza may not have opened new stores left and right over the years but it steadily grew its popularity in the Southwest. Their commercials that feature Tony Cavolo himself became easily recognizable and memorable. His invitation for the public to “come on over” definitely got people paying his stores a visit and establishing Peter Piper Pizza as the place to be.
In the mid-90s, after getting acquired by the Venture West Group and receiving investments from Madison Dearborn Capitals Partners, Peter Piper’s expansion took a leap. They acquired the local competitor, Pistol Pete’s, and converted them to Peter Piper locations. This proved to be a major undertaking but also promised bigger returns in exchange.
Today, Peter Piper has 150 locations in the US and Mexico. It maintained the same concept but updated it to better cater to the needs of millennial families.
What They’re Famous For
Being an established entertainment center and restaurant chain, Peter Piper Pizza is best known for two things: pizza and parties. Since their stores are designed to host parties, they’re some of the most popular places to host birthdays and other celebrations.
Like other restaurants that also offer entertainment features in their locations, Peter Piper also found themselves a solid niche. While lots of their bigger and nationally-available competitors are great places for celebrating the birthdays of very young kids, Peter Piper is a bit more mature. They’re better suited for school-age kids with the kind of games they have in their stores. As a result, Peter Piper can be the right party venue for your little one if they outgrow other family-friendly eateries.
Aside from their parties, lots of families also go to Peter Piper for their food. It’s a great destination if you want to go out with the whole family as there’s a lot to do here.
For starters, the food is well worth the trip because it’s tasty. Their pizza is designed not just to fill guests’ tummies, but they’re also crafted deliciously to keep everyone coming back for more. There’s also a wide selection of food items to choose from, so you don’t have to worry about your options.
Then, of course, there are the games that your kids can enjoy on your visit. So if you want to go on an outing that everyone will enjoy, Peter Piper Pizza promises to be a great destination for your family.
