About Pluckers Wing Bar
The affordable Pluckers Wing Bar prices are a crucial factor in attracting customers to the chicken wings-centric chain of fast casual restaurants, too. Here, you and your group can indulge yourself in as many chicken wings as you want without worrying about your budget flying out the window.
History
Pluckers Wing Bar was started by University of Texas students who were frustrated about the dearth of chicken wing joints in Austin, Texas.
What They’re Famous For
Of course, the chain of Pluckers Wing Bar restaurants is known for its juicy, moist and flavorful chicken wings with a wide array of sauces, as well as dry and wet rubs. According to the management, the sauces are made fresh daily in each restaurant, thus, these taste fresh, too.
Why Eat Here
Keep in mind that Pluckers isn’t Hooters, far from it, but perhaps therein lies its appeal. The casual ambiance attracts a casual crowd usually consisting of students and young professionals out on the town for a good time. The walls have several televisions with live sporting events being shown, and these are usually the ones that Americans favor like basketball, football and baseball although there’s the odd cricket and golf shows, too.
The menu is extensive so there’s always something that you and your group can munch on while watching games, passing the time, and just enjoying the good times. The chicken wings are obviously the must-haves for good reasons – juicy, succulent and flavorful in every bite, these are addictive from meat to bone. These are available in several sizes (i.e., number of wings in each order) from 5 pieces (wimp), 10 pieces (single) and 15 pieces (I’m starving man) to 50 pieces (show off) and 100 pieces (mutha plucka).
Note: You can also order the wing combos wherein you can order any of the abovementioned sizes and your choice of side. You may also want to share the appetizers since these come in generous portions. As for the wings, it’s best not to share because they are that good!
The wings also come in two versions – the bone-in and boneless. We have a personal preference for bone-in wings because it’s such a satisfying feeling to suck every last bit of meat and flavor from the bones. But as with all things related to chicken, personal preferences rule since many also prefer the boneless wings for ease of eating.
The boneless wings are available in a basket in various sizes. The versions include Boneless Wings Basket, Monster Boneless Wings Basket, and Naked Boneless Wings Basket; the chicken tenders can also be bought in bulk (i.e., 50 to 100 at a time).
What are chicken wings without the sauce? At Pluckers, the range of sauces can be overwhelming for first-timers but the crew members are helpful in providing information about each sauce’s heat level. The names of the sauces are also imaginative and evocative of their flavors and heat level so choosing becomes easier.
The Vampire Killer, for example, is a spicy garlic sauce with a high heat level that, according to management, can wake the undead. The Spicy Lemon Pepper is a saucy combo of lemon pepper and buffalo medium sauces while the Manganero is sweet and spicy, thanks to its mango and habanero ingredients.
Pluckers also has several burgers on its menu for, indeed, every wing joint should have these American staples. The Impossible Burger is a vegetarian burger but it has a strong meat flavor; it’s a complete meal, too, with lettuce, grilled onions, and cheese. The Bypass Burger is just as it sounds – it’s filled with delicious, if unhealthy, ingredients including bacon, cheese, jalapenos, and grilled onions, and lots of them, too. The Gut Grenade can bust you gut, or give you a beer belly, with its double meat burger topped with bacon, onions, and queso; it comes with waffles and cheese and a bottle of beer.
The menu also features salads, such as Buffalo Chicken Salad, Honey BBQ Chicken Chop, and Blue Cheese Chicken Cobb; desserts like brownies, fried Twinkies, and fried Oreos; and appetizers like tater cakes, fried pickles, and fried cheese. Share the appetizer sampler with your family and friends; the sampler contains buffalo bites, fried pickles, macaroni and cheese, and fried cheese.
We love it that Pluckers has soy-free and dairy-free options so people with allergies to soy and dairy can still enjoy Pluckers food. The peak hours are lunch and dinner so be prepared to wait for several minutes to get your orders. But the crew members are fast on their feet so you shouldn’t wait too long.
