If you’ve noticed that your Starbucks bill is a bit lower than expected, you’re not imagining things.
On the Starbucks menu, a grande brewed coffee is around $3.65 while a grande Caramel Frappuccino is about $5.65. But these days, customers are enjoying their drinks at half the price.
Traditionally, Starbucks hasn’t been known for offering deals. But with inflation steering people toward making coffee at home, the chain has started offering promotions on a regular basis.
Talib Morgan, a 50-year-old consultant from New Jersey, shared with the Wall Street Journal that he now makes coffee at home. He used to go to SBUX all the time but nowadays limits his visits to once every few weeks due to the slow service and high prices.
According to documents seen by WSJ, Starbucks offered promotions for roughly half of May, including their annual “Happy Hour” deal.
“50% off a drink. It’s on,” Starbucks announced in a recent email to customers. “Keep an eye on the app all summer for more deals.”
This month, Starbucks started offering coffee and breakfast bundles starting at $5 similar to the $5 Meal Deal from McDonald’s.
With the rising costs of groceries and food, many are rethinking their coffee habits. Starbucks aims to win back customers who have cut back on their daily visits.
Since the promotions began, loyal customers seem pleased. An account director from Philly Anthony Fumo, has noticed more offers on the Starbucks app and is taking advantage. He told WSJ, “At 50% off, the coffee feels more reasonably priced.”

Fans everywhere appear to be happy with these new Starbucks promotions. The rising costs of groceries and food have many of us reconsidering our caffeine habits, but with the half price drinks, I’ll most likely go to SBUX frequently again.
