Nevertheless, California Tortilla is known for its Mexican-style fare. History

Alan Cohen and Pam Felix opened the first California Tortilla restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland in August 1995. Since then, the chain has expanded to more than 50 restaurants in several states and abroad with more planned locations. The corporate headquarters are in Rockville, Maryland.
