History
In 1998, Bill Allen and Paul Fleming, two notable restaurateurs, opened the first Fleming’s Steakhouse restaurant in Newport Beach, California. Their vision: To create a casual dining steakhouse with emphasis on excellent food based on the finest aged USDA Prime beef, on generous hospitality provided by the staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. Today, the chain is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bloomin’ Brands, among the world’s largest restaurant companies that also owns and operates Bonefish Grill, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and Outback Steakhouse.
What They’re Famous For
Fleming’s Steakhouse is famous for one of the country’s best combination of steak-based menu and award-winning wine list. In fact, the chain takes pride in The Fleming’s 100, an award-winning collection of 100 classic and contemporary wines that can be ordered by the glass. The wine list is carefully curated each year so that only the best wines, from limited allocation boutique wines to unique local wines, are included in the list. The dinner menu reflects the chain’s passion for innovative flavor pairings, seasonal ingredients, and diversity in selection, thus, only the finest prime steak, signature dishes, and fresh seafood are offered. Customers can also use the WiNEPAD, a custom app designed to match the right wine with the food and mood.
