Pappasito’s Prices: How much is Pappasito’s?
Tex-Mex cuisine is a 20th century culinary phenomenon, as evidenced by the sprouting of Tex-Mex restaurants from the East Coast to the West Coast. But its origins are rooted several centuries ago when the Anglo food was combined with the Spanish and Mexican recipes by the Texans with Spanish and/or Mexican heritage (i.e., Tejanos). The fusion resulted in a new culinary tradition that millions of Americans now enjoy on a daily basis. Below are the latest Pappasito’s menu prices.

About Pappasito’s
Pappasito’s is among the most popular restaurant chains devoted to Tex-Mex cuisine. The chain’s menu then focuses on the use of certain ingredients including chili powder, cumin, and cheese as well as prodigious use of beef, usually ground in nature.
History
Pappasito’s is part of Pappas Restaurants, Inc., a family-owned and operated restaurant company founded by Pete and Jim Pappas, Greek-American brothers. Pappas Restaurants is among the largest of its kind in the United States due to its wide variety of restaurant concepts, such as Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, Pappas Seafood House, and Pappas Burger. Pappasito’s is considered the second-largest concept among these concepts.
Today, Pappas Restaurants is run by Christopher and Harris Pappas. The corporate headquarters are in Houston, Texas while the restaurants are spread across San Antonio, Austin, Atlanta, Beaumont, Chicago, Phoenix, and Denver, among others.
What They’re Famous For
Pappasito’s Cantina, as the chain is formally called, is famous for its delicious Tex-Mex cuisine. Its management touts the chain as the original Tex-Mex cantina, a claim that it lives up to daily with its wide range of authentic dishes and desserts.
Why Eat Here
As soon as you step inside a Pappasito’s restaurant, your first impression is a Tex-Mex cantina with its distinctive décor, casual chair-and-table arrangements, and aromas wafting in from the food. You will have no doubt that, indeed, you’re in a Tex-Mex restaurant with a difference – you can actually enjoy the efficient, friendly and accommodating waiter service! You don’t even have to wait long for a table to be available since there’s always apparently room for more.
Unlike many casual Tex-Mex chains, the Pappasito’s restaurants are known for the fresh quality, tasty flavors, and beautiful presentation of their foods – no sloppy mixing of ingredients apparent here. Even the tableside guacamole – it’s prepared in full view of the guests who ordered it – are made from fine and fresh avocados, peppers, onions and tomatoes so it’s something to write home about.
What better way to start your meal than with Pappasito’s starters? The Crispy Calamari is a spicy and crispy treat that whets the appetite, thanks to its shrimp, jalapeno slices, and chipotle aioli while the Pappasito’s Ceviche wakes it up with its marinated fish, shrimp and scallops mix. The Appetizer Sampler is a great choice for a large group, thanks to its generous portions of pork tamales, chile con queso, beef fahita nachos, and guacamole.
If you want Mexican food, you may want to try the Mexico City Style Chicken and Rice Soup with its avocado slices, tomato, onion, cilantro, and jalapeno garnish. Your meal can also be made more Mexican, so to speak, with the Tequila Lime Salad, a flavorful dish made of grilled chicken fajitas, jicama, avocado, blue corn tortilla strips, and mixed greens with a tequila lime vinaigrette.
Tex-Mex cuisine isn’t Tex-Mex without the nachos and quesadillas. At Pappasito’s, these are served with creamy sour cream and guacamole. The tacos, which are Tex-Mex favorites, are served with rice and beans for a nearly-complete meal, especially for the budget-conscious individuals.
But when you look at the Pappasito’s prices, you will agree that these are still within the average American’s budget range. A few of the items are, in fact, even within the budget of cash-strapped students and workers. Just keep in mind, however, that Pappasito’s isn’t Taco Bell so you’re paying for the better quality.
The fajitas are spectacular! The beef and chicken fajita enchiladas have a deeply satisfying quality to them, especially with the authentic chile con carne and the red chile sauce. You can ask for it to be served with rice and beans, too.
The sizzling fajitas famosas are popular items, too. These are grilled over mesquite fire before being served with fresh flour tortillas, pico de gallo, frijoles a la charra, and guacamole, as well as rice. For an extra fee, you can add extras like jalapeno cheese sausages, rack of ribs, and diablo shrimp.
Of course, the cool and cold drinks are part of an authentic Tex-Mex experience and the Pappasito’s chain doesn’t disappoint with its extensive tequila selection. Choices include blancos, the daily favorites, and añejos, the tequila reserved for special occasions – and every day can be a special occasion, if you so wish. These can also be blended into margaritas, among other cocktails.
The waiter service at Pappasito’s is similar to those delivered in other Pappa’s restaurants. Diners praise the attentive yet unobtrusive service delivered by the servers, as well as the quick delivery of their orders to their tables.
